Your Leftover Rice Is About to Elevate with This Fried Rice Recipe

We usually treat leftover white rice like the ugly duckling, even though it’s a main character in most of our fridges. As we keep on heating it until we throw it away, the taste also gets lost in the middle of this process. On the other hand, who doesn’t like Asian cuisine? With this Chinese take, we decided to get your cold leftover rice into her All Stars era and turn it into a wholesome fried rice that you can eat alone or to add whatever item to it. Are you ready?

INGREDIENTS:

  • White long grain rice
  • Small white onion
  • Vegetables which can be peas and carrots.  You can also add in other veggies such as bell pepper, broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, snow peas and cabbage
  • Eggs
  • Sesame Oil
  • Soy Sauce
  • Green Onions
  • Stewed chicken or beef (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS:

Preheat the pan. Turn your pan to medium high heat and add sesame oil into the bottom of your skillet and add the onion, peas and carrots. Fry this until they are tender.

Slide the veggies to the side. Pour the beaten eggs onto the other side. Use a spatula to scramble the eggs. Mix them together with the veggies.

Add the rice. Combine it with the veggie and egg mixture, in this phase you can add the chicken or the beef if you like. Pour the soy sauce on top and stir until it is heated throughout. Garnish with green onions. Oh, and #AlfHana!
